The best of the Christmas Sales
OK, so I finally finished off my Christmas shopping this morning and what a relief it was too. You would be hard pressed to find someone else as Christmassy as I am, I love the whole affair from the constant Christmas adverts on telly brainwashing the kids into mini-consumers to the dry turkey on the day. Nothing about it gets me down. However this year I have to say I am feeling quite disappointed with the guff knocking about in the shops on sale. Trying to find that special Christmas day outfit has not been easy this year, trawling through the numerous chunky knits and unflattering midi-skirts. So to help myself and you out I have done an audit of the best of the Christmas sales to get the outfit nailed just in time for the big day. Christmas Cracker
Happily continuing my obsession with polka dots, here's my first choice. Burgandy silk polka dot ruffle dress from Whistles at £115 down from £165. This dress is flirty and demure at the same time so would be perfect for Christmas Day with the (future ) in-laws. Team it with chunky black heels and nothing else, the dress is busy so some simple earrings would finish it nicely.
Next choice is this rather classic number in white and black from Reissonline who started their sale TODAY, WAS £189.00 but now selling for £130. Hurry-up before all the sizes get snapped up! This dress would also work with black chunky heels or shoe boots and would benefit from some silver jewellery to keep it simple OR some jet black accessories to add interest. A black flower headband for example would look great.
Continuing on with reissonline as it is the first day of their fabulous sale, check out this number for all the glamour pusses, was £179.00,now £125.00. This is a very sexy dressed-up kinda dress so wear if you are feeling confident and looking to impress. This is my absolute favourite but the sheer scale of the dress means it needs some serious heels and my two little boys require Christmas Day park action so sadly I will choosing a slightly more practical number.
Say it with Sequins
This next item is a good mum choice without actually looking mumsy. Alice & Oliver all over sequin sweater was £360, now £180. Wear this with wet look leggings from topshop.com if you are feeling slinky or this super cool green snake-skin skirt also from Topshop at £42.00. Finish with some flat ankle boots and not only do you have a glamourama look going on but you can run around after the kids without the producers from The Only Way is Essex booking you for a casting.
Finished with a bow
To finish with a flourish, here's another one from Mary Portas at House of Fraser. A bright red festive bow tied and flattering number that gives some leaway for all the eating on the day. Was £150, now £90.00
So there you have a few gorgeous choices for your outfit on Christmas Day. Now I'm off to a friends for a mince-pie and brandy cream extravaganza to get the season underway.
Happy Christmas, Love Lisa XXXX
