Christmas Party Outfits

Christmas parties - what should you wear? Last week it was reported that women spend around 12 hours scouring the web searching for the perfect party dress or outfit. Sounds like a bit of a headache to me and who on earth has the time to do that?  There are a few events you'll need an outfit for to get you through the season; a dressy Christmas party, drinks after work or any festive soiree. You might spend most of your year wearing inoffensive dark coloured tailoring to please the bosses but now is the time to show you have some personality and have some fun with what you wear!

I've searched the shops and selected a sparkling range of outfits below that will give you some inspiration and make sure you look and feel great during this festive season.

1) Christmas Party Look:

First is a colourful option to ensure memories of dull work suits are banished.  This is stunning and can take some accessories without looking overdone and crucially, it is a very flattering shape on most body shapes. I would suggest the gold and black Biba heels from Kurt Geiger, £170 - which add a vintage style to the outfit, a black sparkly clutch bag and some black dangly earrings instead of a necklace due to the shape of this neckline.  This stunner is £695 from net-a-porter.

2) Work to evening drinks:

This dress from Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania line would work beautifully from the office to the bar. The dress is smart enough to be worn under a tailored black jacket and interesting enough to give you an evening look too.  Add the right shade of red lipstick in one of your colours and you'll be rocking around the Christmas tree in perfect style!

3) Drinks with the neighbours:

Roll out the glamour! This outfit is grown-up and stylish with a masculine edge.

These Phillip Lim ivory trousers would be amazing paired with the warm blue lace shirt from Sportmax at £505, Anya Hindmarch golden glitter clutch and Kurt Geiger gold pumps to complete the look.  The only jewellery you need would be an understated pair of earrings - ivory pearls would work nicely.
