Christmas Party Outfits - Festive Sequinned Skirts
Festive Sequins for Christmas Parties
I have come to the conclusion that a girls best friend during the festive season and for all the Christmas Parties is a sequinned skirt. They can be extremely dressy when worn with a block heel and a sheer black top to set it off. Or, they can look very cool during the day when worn with a slouchy jumper or cardigan, thick black tights and boots.
I have a blue and silver sequin skirt found in a charity shop for £5 and a gorgeous gold one from Zara and I have not stopped wearing either. Once you've got your groove on with sequins there's no looking back - it might feel a bit Towie at first but give it your own twist and it will be your wardrobe hero this Christmas from the office party, to lunches to festive dinners.
Here are three of the best in the shops now with ideas of what to wear them with:
1. Malene Birger Silver Sequinned Pencil Skirt; wear this (available at Net-a-porter) with the plain black chiffon blouse below and pointy black stillettos to compliment the pencil shape for a dressed-up look. For a cooler, more casual outfit go for an oversized slouchy grey knit or, if you want to mix-it up a bit and be REALLY festive, a Christmas jumper from Anthropologie will do the trick!
2. River Island Gold Sequin Mini Skirt; This is a gorgeous and would alos look great with the Toteme black blouse above or a tee-shirt tucked in with tights and boots or a cream slouchy knit like this Whistles one, Add some ankle boots for a Christmas Eve daytime look that has a bit of edge, the ones below are from The Outnet and have 50% off - now £135 down from £270. If you prefer to look more classic and ladylike then stick to heels or knee high leather boots with a heel would look lovely too.
3. Multi coloured sequinns from H&M; This one is very glam and eye catching and works with all of the above. Try it with a black leather jacket and black cute heeled ankle boots too.
