Six Summer Holiday Essentials
Summer Holiday Essential Style
Whether you are staying in the UK or jetting off somewhere hot this year I have your holiday essentials right here. We are all practical women and like to feel comfortable but also, to look stylish too so it's great when you manage to combine style with practicality. Jeans and a plain tee shirt are practical but also pretty dull, jazz that up with a kimono and you have the perfect combo!
As I'm sure you are aware, this year there has been a big 70's revival and boho has made a comeback. American brand 'Free People' does excellent boho inspired clothing and they are soon opening a pop-up shop on the Kings Road. I've pulled together a few essential Summer pieces from Free People, mixed-in with a couple of useful pieces from the highstreet to give you Six Summer Holiday Essentials...
1. Floaty hippy style top. Summary and sexy, works with denim shorts, jeans or cotton trousers. These two below are examples of many beautiful boho style tops from Free People:
These are great for wafting around in :). You can waft to the pool in one in the day or you can waft down to dinner in one in the evening. It almost doesn't matter what else you are wearing underneath as this adds instant glamour, all you'll need to add is a relaxing cocktail!
3. Tailored Cotton Cropped Trousers
These are perfect for travelling. Very comfy, cooler on your skin than jeans and lighter than denim. If you teamed this pair with the above floaty top and a pair of lace-up flats below you would bring glamour to Gatwick!
4. Summer Dress
Everyone needs one! No explanation needed:
5. Denim cut-off shorts
An absolute holiday essential! These look great in the day and also dressed up with a blazer or kimono in the evening. Wearing a pair of distressed looking, rough- round-the-edges denim cut-offs with a silk or boho style top is a also a great combination.
6. Lace-up flats
Classier than a raffia wedge and more practical, this kind of flat is everywhere at the moment. I have mentioned Boden's silver version of this shoe a few times in my blog's this year, so to give a bit of variety, here are some neutral lace-up flats and some black. Office also do some in a very nice red suede which would look lovely with khaki cotton trousers for travelling.
Here's to a relaxing, fun and of course stylish Summer!
