Spring Outfit Ideas

Light and Bright

Hooray, the clocks go forward this weekend - always one of the highlights of my year. Lighter evenings and brighter days, a cheerful prospect for us all!

On my travels in the shops last week I have spotted a few items you could get to create some outfits ready for when it finally warms up:

From the Top

Whistles are rolling out some fantastic tops this season. This bright blue tie front top gives a strong block of colour with the interesting detail of the tie front. Very wearable with jeans or wide legged trousers.

This Bardot top also by Whistles has a 70's feel to it with the colourful stripes. Stripes are a massive trend for Spring.

Back to Basics

The most hardworking basic in your wardrobe is jeans so it's good to have a few pairs you enjoy wearing. Topshop do great inexpensive jeans (around £40) like these dark blue Moto jeans below. If you want to stay bang-on trend then choose a frayed hem (see jeans below by Mother Denim) AND a kick flare or one or the other.

Any of my Personal Shopping clients will confirm I am very evangelical about getting lots of jackets in your wardrobe. Jackets finish off outfits and sometimes a fabulous jacket is all you need to make a great outfit, throw one on over a simple t-shirt and jeans and voila!

My personal favourite is a leather biker jacket and instead of harsh black, a softer Spring/Summer colour like this caramel brown one from Whistles or the beautifully soft, gorgeous slate blue biker by All Saints will give good bang for your buck. If you are a trend follower then go for a bomber jacket, they are everywhere at the moment, from Primark to the pricey silk version below by Muveil at Matches Fashion. If you like a smarter look that will be good for work and work with jeans at the weekend then a soft unstructured trench coat like the nude/beige one from &Other Stories below would look fantastic.

Mules Rule

Mules are back with a vengeance this season and the pale cream leather by Boutique at Topshop or the nude suede from Reiss will go with absolutely everything!
