Three autumn wardrobe essentials
SOMETIMES I get bored of wearing skinny jeans and a nice top. Variety is indeed 'the spice of life' and occasionally I stand in front of my wardrobe willing it to thrill me, craving some variety to 'spice up my life' and put a spring in my step. Overall I'm quite a plain dresser and practicality and ease is paramount to me not getting irritated in my outfit but still I want it to be aesethetically pleasing and damn it, I want it to be stylish too! That is why the jumper dress, the shirt dress and the over the knee boots are three autumn wardrobe essentials that are going to work like a dream this autumn. A jumper dress manages to be extremely comfortable and easy whilst looking quite polished, like you've made a massive effort when you've hardly tried. Pair one with a pair of over the knee boots and Bob's your Uncle, Fanny's your Aunt and you've got a comfy but sexy outfit right there! OTK boots also look incredible over jeans or with other dresses and skirts - this is what a useful wardrobe is all about; ESSENTIALS that aren't one hit wonders, that give you loads of options.
Shirt dresses also have that 'throw on appeal' a cool relaxed vibe that don't make you feel too dressed up but like you've still made an effort. ALSO - shirt dresses are brilliant for layering, layer them over jeans or leather leggings for a totally different look when this warm weather spell ends.
Starting with the jumper dress Whistles is a one-stop-jumper-dress-shop closely followed by All Saints who have some really great options - slouchy knits and dresses are their thing. All these look totally great with OTK boots, ankle boots, biker boots or trainers.
For classic over the knee boots try Stuart Weizeman like these below from Russel and Bromley but for something A LOT more fun and daring visit Zara - there's a wide choice here including red patent, silver, floral, glitter, lain black and gorgeous velvet.
