As a ‘Practical Penny’ you see clothes as a means to an end.
It’s quite likely you are a country type, or into sports, maybe rugby or sailing. You love a bit of Sea Salt (the brand) or if you are American, perhaps J-Crew or GAP – just anything practical really with a Bretton stripe and always flat shoes.
A jumper/sweater worn over a shirt with the collars sticking out is a favourite combo of yours. You definitely have a practical raincoat stashed in the wardrobe and your look leans towards preppy/college chic.
There is nothing wrong with any of this but, if you want to style things up a bit, look for alternative brands that will add a bit of chicness and try not to wear EVERYTHING practical.
There is no need to veer too far from who you are – this is your natural style, but you could definitely ramp it up from time to time.
Celebs to take inspo from would be Alexa Cheung and Victoria Beckham who do preppy really well.
