Could the one thing missing from your wardrobe be a fabulous metallic skirt!? Great for parties and equally good in the day too. I got stopped in the street twice today whilst out and about wearing my beloved Anthropologie pale gold metallic skirt - now on sale at £49. I always feel great in it and although often in my blog I spend time recommending the stuff we need in our wardrobe I also think it’s essential to have a few things you want. Want and need are providing us very different things, the things we need make us feel pious and the things we want can be seen as frivolous but I argue - injecting a bit of joy into your wardrobe can work wonders for your self esteem and anyway, who wants to be sensible all the time? Fashion is power - it has the ability to lift you up and whilst it would be remiss of me to suggest a metallic skirt is the answer to all your woes, why can’t it be a party every day in terms of how you dress? Nothing should be off-limits if you enjoy wearing it.

Metallic or sequinned skirt’s are not only for nights out ether. They work perfectly well during the day with a leather jacket, block heel ankle boots or trainers. I wore mine recently ( I wear it ALL THE TIME) paired with trainers and a denim shirt and felt really comfortable but glam at the same time.

I recommended this skirt on my Facebook page last Friday and it was very popular! It a really great price and I like the way they’ve styled it here with a slouchy knit and long boots - a good example of making it daytime appropriate:

This one is a bit more out there with the layered ruffles but it’s interesting and a change from the pleated versions around.

My third choice is this great sequin skirt from Hush this season. Be quick to order as it’s already low in stock and it’s only been around for a couple of weeks. It’s got both gold and silver so goes with lots of things and I think will look fabulous paired with a black jumper and black leather or suede boots. Either ankle boots with barely black tights or knee high/over the knee boots.

Are you a fan of a sequin or metallic skirt? Some people feel they are a bit daring for the day but life is short and you’ve got to get your glamour on from time to time and just strut your stuff.
